I can tell you it does get a little easier as they get older and more independent. But it is always changing and you just have to do the best you can and roll with the punches. We're also military so we move all the time and never have family around so that can get hairy especially like last year when my husband was deployed to Afghanistan and it was just me. I've learned to adapt, I live on caffeine and a few hours sleep, but there is a bittersweet silver lining, school age comes in the blink of an eye. Today was my first day ever of having both children at school for a solid block of time, I wish I could say I got more painting done but it was the first day. Good luck and wishing you the best from another mother in the artistic trench:)Carrie Waller Watercolorshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10950677994996699686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6233388208503954162.post-9446090324219821042012-08-16T09:56:44.243-04:002012-08-16T09:56:44.243-04:00I've often wondered in awe of how you are able...I've often wondered in awe of how you are able to manage so much and produce the beautiful paintings that you do! I have no secrets to share... I never got it figured out. I fiddled around with art but waited until my children were grown and semi-retired before I could manage to get back to it. You're doing great! Spend time with that little one when she needs you and be kind to yourself when you need it.:) Kathleenhttp://kathleenwilliford.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6233388208503954162.post-24147914258539903072012-08-15T22:52:53.199-04:002012-08-15T22:52:53.199-04:00PS - I am having a very busy August....planning on...PS - I am having a very busy August....planning on taking some time off in September.Woodside Parkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13981644571968878448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6233388208503954162.post-54383015969023936692012-08-15T22:51:10.018-04:002012-08-15T22:51:10.018-04:00Hi, Liz - I hope you feel better and, are back to ...Hi, Liz - I hope you feel better and, are back to the studio fresh and inspired. You do so much...Aww Liz, go easy on yourself dear.

You do so much already and days like that are bound to happen. I did not pick up a paint brush myself back up until Alexander was 3 (but then again our circumstances were different). I both commend you and am inspired by how well you are able to juggle Mommyhood with a young child and still manage to paint as frequently and at the caliber that you do. I prescribe to you the rest of the week off. Read some books. Catch up on your sleep and then get right back at that easel when life is less stressful.

We all need a little time off. Big hugs to you! -SuzanneAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
