Washington State {a new landscape painting}

20100713 Washington State Landscape 18x24

Washington State Landscape – 18" x 24" (45.7 x 61 cm) – oil on canvas

Hello,

Every so often I decide to work on a landscape. This is an enlarged and expanded version of a previous study. In this painting thick paint and texture was used in the foreground to really help define distances.

Hi Linda, the big sky of the west is something I love also!

Hi Elizabeth
like the landscape big skies reminiscent of Norfolk where much of the British Landscape painting was developed.
I note you are an architect as well. Do you paint buildings or do you see to many in your other line of work?

Hi Mark, Thanks for stopping by and sharing. I no longer practice architecture and only do art, however I have not really incorporated buildings into my oil paintings much. They do show up in watercolors and drawings sometimes :)
