The colors on the 9x12 oil sketch are breathtaking; it's a very beautiful piece.

Gracias Ale :) working in oil is so rewarding because you can create texture with how you apply the paint.

Gracias por escribe en espanol...

Thanks Kerri, sketches are wonderful for experimenting and having no-pressure for getting anything specific accomplished... I think that is why they tend to be so loose and energetic.

Have a wonderful evening, Liz

Hi again Liz! I've really enjoyed all the sketches you've posted so far.

I wanted to thank you for the brush recommendation on my blog. I'll probably give your suggestion a try next time I place an art order; I like the idea of a longer bristle. It's one of the reasons I like the Grand Prix when it's new, as it seems to be longer than many other hog bristles and works wonderfully in the beginning.

Hi Kerri, good luck with the brushes I hope they work out for you. I just tried the Grand Prix ones myself and have found them to be a lot more stiff than what I am used to.

Liz, the beautiful figure sketch on your sidebar led me over her and I can only say WOW.
Your figure work is among the best of the best. The life-size sculpture is fantastic and thanks for not doing a skinny model with playboy breasts :D

Hi Mary! Skinny models are never as fun to paint as those with unique body shapes, you get a lot more nuances when the figure is not picture perfect!
