Lady Apple with Ribbon Part 2

Lady Apple with Satin Ribbon – 2-1/2” x 8” Oil on Canvas Panel

This is the second painting of this diptych I have been working on. I spent quite a bit of time today getting the painting completed and then also getting the neutral background of the two paintings to be very similar in color and value.

Here is a photo of how the two go together.

I love how the two of them work together.

Thanks Paula! it was a fun challenge to work them out. Keeping them interesting seperately and combined.

That's really lovely the way the two go together. The apples just really pop against the satin ribbon.

Very nice Liz, you seem to have a talent for setting up very nice and unusual compositions. I never would have thought to pair apples with a ribbon. I also like your pomegranate and chinese lantern
composition. Very original!

Thanks Carol. I have been wanting to paint a ribbon for quite awhile, and liked how the gray went with the bright colors of the apples.

Thanks for the kind words about the pomegranate as well. I really love how that one turned out!
