Friday Morning

Good Morning ~

These lovely flowers are from my dear S. and I got them for being a real trooper because yesterday I found out the results of all the tests regarding my back injury. Things turned out to be better than hoped, I will not need to have surgery, which I am very grateful for, but I will need to continue with physical therapy. The being a trooper part is because I survived the horrible experience of having a cortizone shot in one of the inflamed joints that is causing all the back and sciatic pain. I had heard that they would be painful, but to the level it turned out to be I was not prepared for...

This morning is starting off a little slow, as I am sore after yesterday, though I need to get in gear as I am headed to the first figure drawing class of the winter term.

I am hopeful this weekend will be filled with art making, of any kind. So I will see you soon...

Thanks for stopping by and spending time reading,

Liz

I'm happy for your good news and wish you the best. I am pretty stoic about shots and such but I have heard that those cortisone shots are very tough.
Put your feet up and read some art maggies until you feel better.

Hi Mary, I think that is what I will do this morning... instead of art magizines, I am part way through The Art Spirit by Robert Henri, so I will use the resting time to make more headway...

I'm glad the results came back with some good news, though I'm REALLY sorry to hear about the shot. I hope you have a great weekend, free of stress!

Oh my dear Elizabeth I do know what that feels like. I have been suffering of sciatic pain since my son was born...almost 19 years. I have had many many tough crisis of barely being able to walk, days of crawling out of bed, several second opinions and suggestions of surgery to take care of some lumber disk problems, but having witnessed up close the struggle my father-in-law faced after two back surgeries, I will only consider such an intervention as my last resort.
I'm glad you don't have to have it, and I hope therapy works out. It does for me.

Good luck and quick recovery!

So glad the news was better than expected. Hope the soreness goes away soon and that the painful shot helps alleviate future pain.

Can't wait to see pix from your figure study class.

Synchronicity--me with my back injury (not as bad as yours, though) coming here and reading this post!
I once got a cortisone shot for my plantar fasciitis (heel pain). It and its result were far worse than the original pain, and needless to say, I never wanted one again.
Sending good thoughts your way. How did you injure it?

Kerri, Thank you for the support. The weekend went well, but I was still recuperating, so no art was completed.

Thank you Isabel for sharing with me your situation. I had hoped to avoid surgery, so I am glad for the good news.

Thanks Elizabeth, I too am hopeful the shot will alleviate future pain, and get the inflamation down so I can start doing some more deep therapy to help overcome the issue... I will post the WIP drawing later today from the figure drawing class.

Jala, I totally sympathize with your cortizone shot experience and fully concur that this will be my last shot. It was pretty tramatic.... The back injury is an old one from a bad car accident. funny the car accident only did slight damage to my car but thousands have been spent on my back since then...

Welcome Bonnie, I am so glad you stopped by. Thanks for the support about the back injury, it is still keeping me down some today, but tomorrow will hopefully be a new slate and I will be full of energy...
