Hellebore {a new small floral painting}

Painted at the end of the day, just before sunset, this hellebore seemed to glow in the last lights of the day.

I love the subtle purple color in the flowers, and the background shade of gray works beautifully with it. I think it's a lovely little painting :-)

The light on the petals is lovely. I really like how the flower on the right is mostly in shadow, with a few edges catching the light. Great greens, too!

Hi Virginia, I am glad you like the painting. I have been learning that great greens need a little red or purple in them to really sing...
